Note that 1.3.0
is savegame-compatible with the previous 0.8
and 1.0
versions.
This release focuses on the rework of most graphical assets, but also contains some QoL changes.
Update of Assets
I updated nearly all graphical assets. I focused on very clear Mk tier colors, usage of very few but pleasant colors and materials and the addition of light sources.
The shape of the models remained mostly the same, some buildings (such as the lab) were entirely remade.
Have a look:
Always Day
I decided to get rid of the visual day/night cycle. Factor Y
now always looks as if it was the middle of the day.
There’s still a day/night cycle within the game logic affecting the Brightness
and solar power production, so this remains unchanged.
Previously nights were hard to notice anyway and made the game just look worse in general.
I also removed the ‘atmosphere effect’ where for example dry planets would have a subtle color overlay for the exact same reasons.
Other, Minor Improvements
- The miner is now used as icon of the ‘Materials’ category
- Improved spacing in the tooltip of the nuclear waste reactor
- Orbits of colonized planets are now highlighted
